| MAIN ACTORS GUILD AND ACTORS UNIONS
Below are some of the main actors guilds and actors unions. Each one has local branches that cater to its residents. The requirements, representations, membership dues and duties of each one differ. Because membership dues can be expensive, we recommend that actors, models, and other performers research any guild or union they plan on joining.
SCREEN ACTORS GUILD (SAG)
Screen Actors Guild is the nation's largest labor union representing working actors. SAG represents nearly 120,000 working actors in film, television, industrials, commercials, video games, music videos and other new media. The Guild exists to enhance actors' working conditions, compensation and benefits and to be a powerful, unified voice on behalf of artists' rights. Headquartered in Los Angeles, SAG is a proud affiliate of the AFL-CIO.

AMERICAN FEDERATION OF TELEVISION AND RADIO ARTISTS (AFTRA)
The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) is a national labor union representing over 70,000 performers, journalists and other artists working in the entertainment and news media.

ACTORS' EQUITY ASSOCIATION (AEA)
Actors' Equity Association ("AEA" or "Equity"), founded in 1913, is the labor union that represents more than 48,000 Actors and Stage Managers in the United States. Equity (AEA) seeks to advance, promote and foster the art of live theatre as an essential component of our society.

CANADIAN ACTOR'S EQUITY ASSOCIATION (CAEA)
Canadian Actors' Equity Association (CAEA) is the professional association of performers, directors, choreographers, fight directors and stage managers in Canada engaged in live performance in theatre, opera and dance.
The business of CAEA is to negotiate and administer collective agreements, provide benefit plans, information and support, and act as an advocate for its membership.

EQUITY UK ((BRITISH ACTORS UNION)
Equity UK is the only Trade Union to represent artists from across the entire spectrum of arts and entertainment in the UK. Equity UK's main function is to negotiate minimum terms and conditions throughout the entire world of entertainment, taking account of social and economic changes and emerging technologies which affect performers.
