POPULAR DANCE STYLES

Professional dancers are usually trained and skilled in a particular dance style like the ballroom dancers on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”. HIP HOP DANCE
Hip hop dancing or “street” dancing, includes breaking, popping, locking and krumping, freestyle, funk and even house dance. Today, many dance studios have hip hop classes for children as young as 5. Ballet dancing is broken down into three main forms: classical ballet, neoclassical, and contemporary. Ballet dancers must be disciplined and highly trained, usually from childhood, as early as the age of four.
