Ashton
Kutcher
Ashton Kutcher as most of you know him as today was actually
born as Christopher Ashton Kutcher on February 7th 1978 in
Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Larry & Diane Kutcher are the proud
parents of Ashton and his 5 minutes apart fraternal twin brother
Michael. At the fragile age of 13 Ashton's parents Larry &
Diane divorced and both were later remarried (to separate
spouses). That same year Ashton's brother received a heart
transplant (as his brother suffered from Cardiomyopathy ).
At the age of 15, Ashton's mom packed up the whole family
along with her husband and moved to Homestead Iowa where he
enrolled for schooling at Clear Creek Amana. Prior to his
move in 7th grade Ashton made his some what theatrical debut
in "The Crying Princess and the Golden Goose".
During his senior year Ashton was offered one of the lead
roles in a school production "Annie". However he
later ended up losing the part due to a misdemeanor.
After graduating in 1996 Ashton attended the University of
Iowa. His decision was strongly influenced by his brothers
surgery to study biochemical engineering in hopes of finding
a way to help people with Cardiomyopathy. As a side job and
means to pay for college Ashton worked at a General Mills
factory earning $10 an hour, sweeping the floors.
However fait would have it differently and while at a local
bar a modeling agent suggested he enter the Fresh Faces of
Iowa modeling contest. The first prize was a trip to New York
City to compete in the 1997 International Model and Talent
Agency competition (if you're wondering, yes Ashton won).
While in New York Ashton signed to the Next Agency. In no
time Ashton was traveling across the world and modeling where
he could for magazines and top fashion designers such as Calvin
Klein, Versace, and Tommy Hilfiger.
In 1998 Ashton went to Hollywood during casting season to
try out for TV shows. Ashton was presented with 2 auditions
on the same day. 1 for "Wind On Water" and the other
was for Fox's "That '70s Show". Ashton was then
left with a dilemma as he had landed both shows and was forced
to decide between either. "Wind On Water" was shortly
canceled, luckily Ashton had made the right decision and chose
That '70s Show.
Now in it's 6th Season Ashton has become the bright star
in the sky we've always known him to be. Ashton has signed
on for the season of 2005-2006 assuring us two more years
of the loveable Kelso. He reportedly inked a multi-million
dollar contract renewal for That '70s Show which has him commending
an estimated 250,000 to $300,000 per episode.
Wanting to conquer all aspects of his craft Ashton has branched
out into producing. He's credited with producing 4 of his
up coming movies 2 of which he's already co-produced (Butterfly
Effect, The and My Boss's Daughter). His most successful production
venture is his hidden camera reality TV series Punk'd. Punk'd
has Ashton starring and producing his very own show where
he plays practical jokes on celebrities. The show has been
well receipted by viewers that it's been signed on for 20
more episodes which will stretch into two seasons. The show
also helped Ashton earn two 2003 Teen Choice Award surf board
(Choice Reality/Variety Host and Choice TV Reality Hunk)
From the television screen to the big screen, Ashton has
had small roles in films such as Down to You and Reindeer
Games, which both were released in 2000. His first major role
was in Dude, Where's My Car alongside American Pie's Seann
William Scott. Ashton then made a 180 with his next film project.
Breaking out of the mold with a more serious turn alongside
James Van Der Beek in 2001's Texas Rangers. A return to comedy
wasn't far behind with a role in My Boss's Daughter formerly
known as The Guest scheduled to be released later that same
year. However the movie was pushed back to late February 2003,
and then pushed back again when Ashton and Brittany Murphy
(of 8 Mile fame) scored a hit with their romantic comedy Just
Married.
Although Ashton has yet to garner that critical acclamation,
no one can deny his talent and abilities to make us laugh.
Just Married was critically panned but that didn't stop it
from opening number 1 stopping the Two Towers from its 3 week
reign at the top.
Following his success with Just Married, Ashton will light
up the big screen once again. Staring in My Boss's Daughter
which he also is credited as one of the movies co-producers.
After My Boss's Daughter comes a brand new season of That
70's Show and many new projects such as Elizabethtown with
Spider Mans Kirsten Dunst and The Dukes of Hazzard with Paul
Walker.
